Any service provider that provides a total service value of more than Rs 20 lakh in a year, requires GST registration.
Any business which is engaged in the supply of goods having a total turnover of more than Rs 40 lakh is also mandated to get GST registration. Apart from this, GST registration is necessary for those supplying goods from one state to another and doing business through the e-commerce platform.
If a unit operates in a special category state and if its annual turnover is more than Rs 10 lakh per year, then the rule of GST registration becomes applicable.
The Finance Ministry has made the GST registration process simple so that business owners do not find the tax filing process difficult. You can also go for GST Related Services Company to avoid doing this complicated task on your own.
The applicant can easily register for GST online by using the GST Portal. On submitting the application for GST registration, the portal gives GST ARN, on the spot, through which the applicant can know the details about the status of the application also get answers to his/her queries if required.
Follow These Steps for Online GST Registration:
- First, go to GST Portal – https://www.gst.gov.in. Then go to ‘Services’ and click on ‘New Registration Option’.
- The New GST Registration page is displayed. Select the New Registration option. In case the GST registration application remains incomplete, the applicant can continue to fill the application using the TRN number.
- On submission of the above information, the OTP verification page will appear on which you will see that OTP will be valid for not more than 10 minutes. Hence, enter two different OTPs sent to verify email and mobile number.
- After verifying the OTP, you will get a TRN. And this TRN will be required to finish and put forward the application for GST registration.
- On receiving the TRN, the person/entity applying for the registration can initiate the GST registration process. By typing the TRN in the TRN box and the captcha text, theapplicant can proceed for OTP verification on the phone or email.
After this, clicking the red colour icon will help in commencing the process for GST registration.
- In the first tab, enter the business details.In the succeeding tab, provide information about promoters and directors.
In the case of ownership, owner information should be entered. Information about not more than 10 promoters or partners can be provided in the GST registration application.
- Now enter the details of the authorized signatory as this individual will take the responsibility of filing the GST return of the company.
- In the next part, the applicant will give the details of the main location of the company. This place must be f the state from where the taxpayer will conduct his business. In this section, upload the documents to provide the proof of ownership of the property.
- Next, the taxpayer has to provide some information about the main 5 goods and services in which the applicant deals. For goods and services, SHN code and SAC code will have to be provided respectively.
After this, the taxpayer will have to give all his bank account information and upload a photo of the bank statement or passbook as proof. Here, you can resort to GST Registration Services in Delhi.
- On this step, before submission, the details entered in the application need to be verified. After the completion of verification, the applicant must mark the verification checkbox. Lastly, the application should be digitally signed through Digital Signature Certificate (DSC)/e-Sign or EVC.
On signing the application, a message will come. Its receipt and Application Reference Number (ARN) will be received on the registered e-mail address and mobile phone number.
