The GSTN has introduced a new process for GST registration in Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, and Chandigarh, effective August 24, 2024. The amended Rule 8 of the CGST Rules, 2017 now mandates biometric Aadhaar authentication and document verification. Applicants will receive an OTP-based Aadhaar Authentication link or a link to book an appointment at a GST Suvidha Kendra (GSK) for biometric verification and document review.

For those receiving the appointment link, scheduling a visit to the GSK and bringing the appointment confirmation email, jurisdiction details, and original copies of Aadhaar, PAN cards, and uploaded documents is necessary. The GSK will conduct biometric and document verification, and ARNs will be generated after the successful completion of these processes.
