Fixation of Monetary Limits for Proper Officers under Sections 73, 74 & 74A

The Haryana GST Department has prescribed monetary limits for issuing Show Cause Notices (SCNs) and passing orders related to:

  • ✓ State Tax (SGST) & Cess
  • ✓ Integrated Tax (IGST) & Cess
  • ✓ Total Tax (SGST + IGST) & Cess

Excise & Taxation Officer – Up to ₹1 Cr (SGST), ₹2 Cr (IGST), ₹2 Cr
(Total Tax)
Deputy Commissioner of State Tax – Above ₹1 Cr (SGST), ₹2 Cr
(IGST), ₹2 Cr (Total Tax)

GST Advisory | Case Insensitivity in IRN Generation

Dated: 04/04/2025

W.e.f. 1st June 2025, the Invoice Registration Portal (IRP) will treat invoice/document numbers as case-insensitive for IRN generation.

Invoice numbers such as "abc", "ABC", or "Abc" will be considered identical.

All invoice numbers will be automatically converted to uppercase before IRN generation, in line with the existing approach in GSTR-1.

This change aims to enhance consistency and prevent duplication of IRN.
